REDMI K90 Ultra certified with 100W charging, and it may beat K90 Max

The upcoming Xiaomi REDMI K90 Ultra has now appeared in China’s 3C certification database, confirming one major hardware upgrade: 100W wired charging support. The certification listing shows a new Xiaomi 5G smartphone carrying the model number M332BF, approved on May 25 by the China Quality Certification Center.

This development is especially important because recent rumors suggested that the REDMI K90 Ultra project had been canceled internally. However, new certification data and fresh leaks from trusted Chinese tipsters now strongly indicate the opposite. The device is alive, actively progressing, and may actually launch as a more premium flagship than the already announced REDMI K90 Max.

As previously confirmed by Xiaomi executives months ago, the REDMI K90 Ultra is expected to sit above the K90 Max in Xiaomi’s performance lineup. Globally, this device is totally different with the Xiaomi 17T Pro. 17T series also will launch in China.

Importantly, the K90 Ultra is a China-exclusive smartphone carrying the internal codename WARSAW and P12X model family. Xiaomi has not prepared any global ROM variant for this model.

REDMI K90 Ultra receives 3C certification

According to the newly discovered certification entry, the REDMI K90 Ultra supports:

  • 100W wired fast charging
  • 5G connectivity
  • New Xiaomi model number: M332BF

Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station also commented on the certification, asking users what they expect from the upcoming performance-focused flagship. The leak hints at several possible flagship-level upgrades, including:

  • Large high refresh rate flat display
  • More aggressive sustained performance tuning
  • Bigger battery capacity
  • Improved peripheral and gaming experience

The same source additionally revealed something even more interesting: the official positioning of the REDMI K90 Ultra is below K90 Max in naming only, but higher in actual product hierarchy. This aligns with earlier comments from Lu Weibing, who previously suggested that the K90 Ultra would become a more advanced device than the K90 Max.

K90 Ultra may become Xiaomi’s true performance flagship

The current REDMI K90 Max already represents one of Xiaomi’s most aggressive gaming-focused phones ever released in China. The device launched in April with several major specifications:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor
  • AI D2 discrete graphics chip
  • LPDDR5X Ultra memory
  • UFS 4.1 storage
  • 1.5K + 165Hz concurrent gaming support
  • Built-in cooling fan
  • Starting price of approximately $415 USD (converted from 2,999 yuan)

That makes the REDMI K90 Ultra even more interesting. Unlike the Max version, the Ultra model is expected to become Xiaomi’s next globally marketed performance flagship under the Xiaomi T-series branding.

REDMI K90 Ultra rumors were wrong

For the past several months, multiple rumors claimed Xiaomi had canceled the REDMI K90 Ultra entirely. However, the new 3C certification effectively disproves those reports.

Another known Chinese source, Smart Pikachu, also confirmed the filing information and stated that Xiaomi is still actively preparing the device.

This directly supports Lu Weibing’s earlier statements that the K90 Ultra would become a more premium and higher-positioned product than the K90 Max. Based on the newest information, Xiaomi appears to be developing the Ultra as a fully balanced flagship rather than only a gaming-oriented smartphone.

Expected market impact

If Xiaomi positions the REDMI K90 Ultra correctly, the device could become one of the strongest flagship killers in the second half of the year. A combination of:

  • 100W charging
  • flagship MediaTek performance
  • large battery
  • premium cooling system
  • balanced flagship experience

could allow Xiaomi to compete aggressively against gaming phones and premium flagship devices simultaneously.
