Xiaomi HyperOS Security Rollout Has Started
The rollout currently appears limited to selected regions and pilot builds, which is standard for Xiaomi HyperOS staged deployments. More Xiaomi, REDMI, and POCO devices are expected to join the rollout list throughout May 2026.
Users can manually check for the update by going to:
Settings → About phone → Xiaomi HyperOS → Check for updates
Why This Update Matters
Unlike smaller monthly patches, the May 2026 release addresses a vulnerability capable of enabling remote code execution under certain conditions. Because the flaw reportedly requires little to no user interaction, delaying the update could expose devices to elevated security risks.
For Xiaomi users who frequently connect to public Wi-Fi networks, use wireless debugging, or install third-party applications, installing the latest patch is strongly recommended.
Xiaomi’s Security Strategy Continues to Improve
Xiaomi has significantly accelerated its Xiaomi HyperOS security deployment speed over the past year, especially for flagship and Global market devices. The company is now pushing monthly Android security patches faster across Xiaomi, REDMI, and POCO ecosystems.
Users can track all newly released Xiaomi HyperOS security updates through MemeOSUpdates Security Patch Tracker and the MemeOS Enhancer app, which continuously monitors rollout status, firmware changes, and new regional releases.

Okay. Thank you for informing us about almost everything! Almost… It would be important if the unspoken information could somehow reach us. For example, why don’t some devices get security updates for up to 2 months? It would be nice if all this could be found out, because it would be really valuable news. This would be the minimum update from Xiaomi. We don’t need constant feature enhancements, but security would be important.
For the 15U/EU version, they released the February Update around end of February/beginning of March. Around the second week of May they released the April Update. They basically skipped the whole March Security Update (including critical fixes).
And even worse – at the beginning of May that caused issues for enterprise users that have strict 90 day rules in place. They were basically forced to do something.. This was already the second time btw. – it already happened end of last year.
This is for their *Ultra* model that’s a little bit older than a year – not some cheap phone they barely make money with.
I received the Vivo last week and it’s already on May Update. Good bye Xiaomi.
