iPhone 11 still gets updates, so what is Xiaomi’s longest-supported phone?

Apple has once again raised the bar for long-term software support, as the iPhone 11 series is now listed among the devices compatible with iOS 27. This means the 2019 iPhone lineup continues to receive major iOS updates years after launch, making it one of the strongest examples of smartphone update longevity. However, Xiaomi also has several legendary devices that received surprisingly long MIUI and HyperOS support. Users can check the live Xiaomi update lifetime list directly from MemeOSUpdates.

iPhone 11 sets a new update lifetime record

The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max were launched in 2019 with iOS 13. With iOS 27 support, these devices now represent one of the longest software support cycles in smartphone history. This is especially impressive because the iPhone 11 series is still usable today for everyday tasks, social media, camera usage and most modern apps.

From a user perspective, this matters more than simple version numbers. A phone that receives major operating system updates for many years keeps its app compatibility, security level and resale value much stronger. This is one of the biggest reasons why iPhones often remain attractive in the second-hand market.

Xiaomi’s longest-supported devices are still impressive

While Apple leads in direct operating system version longevity, Xiaomi has its own update legends. Older models such as the Xiaomi Mi 2 and Xiaomi Mi 3 received a very long MIUI update lifecycle, moving across multiple MIUI generations. These devices show that Xiaomi was already experimenting with long-term interface support long before HyperOS became the company’s unified ecosystem platform.

The difference is important: Apple updates iOS as a full operating system package, while Xiaomi often separates Android base updates from MIUI or HyperOS interface updates. Because of this, a Xiaomi phone may receive several MIUI or HyperOS versions without receiving the same number of Android platform upgrades.

Android 10 and newer still feels usable today

Another important point is the current state of Android itself. Today, Android 10 and newer versions can still handle daily usage smoothly under normal conditions. Most essential apps, social platforms, banking apps and browser-based services continue to work properly on Android 10+ devices.

This makes Xiaomi’s long MIUI and HyperOS support more valuable than it may look on paper. Even when the Android base does not move every year, updated system apps, security improvements and interface-level changes can keep a device feeling fresh for much longer.

Xiaomi users can track update lifetime live

This page gives users a clear view of which Xiaomi devices received which MIUI, HyperOS and Android versions. It is especially useful for people who want to compare older Xiaomi phones, check long-term support history or understand whether a device had a strong software lifecycle.

Xiaomi is also preparing for the Android 21 era

Xiaomi is no longer far behind in the long-term update race, especially with its newer flagship policy. Devices that launch with Android 15, such as the Xiaomi 15 series, are now positioned for a much longer software life than older Xiaomi phones. Xiaomi’s latest flagship policy offers up to four major Android upgrades and six years of security updates, meaning Android 15-based models can normally reach Android 19, while future extended-policy devices could push this even further toward Android 21 if Xiaomi expands its commitment.

MemeOS Enhancer makes Xiaomi tools easier

Xiaomi users can also use the MemeOS Enhancer app, available on the Google Play Store. The app is designed as a Xiaomi-focused tool that helps users access useful system features, update-related tools and device information more easily.

For users who actively follow Xiaomi software updates, HyperOS versions and device support status, MemeOS Enhancer can be a helpful companion alongside MemeOSUpdates.

Final verdict

The iPhone 11 series is currently the clear update lifetime champion, especially with iOS 27 support. Apple’s long-term update model remains the industry benchmark for major operating system upgrades.

However, Xiaomi should not be ignored. Devices like the Xiaomi Mi 2, Xiaomi Mi 3, Xiaomi Mi 10, Xiaomi Mi 11, Xiaomi 12 series and Xiaomi 13 series show that Xiaomi has also built a strong update history across MIUI and HyperOS generations.

In short, Apple leads in pure OS longevity, while Xiaomi’s best devices prove that long-term Android support has improved massively over the years.

You could say that Xiaomi gives long support the same You can pull Your socks to Your ears and say that those are pants.
Teoreticly both are true but in realitg probably 90% of Xiaomi phones never ever get longer support than two years.
New ones get potential for lon support but it is also misleading. Competitors give updates some time after google and Xiaomi after months or even longer. It is rulete not support. And one or two models do not change that.

Even my Mi2s from 2014 with only 2gb Ram is surprisingly still usable with good battery. After 5 years of constant use extraordinary well condition.
