Xiaomi Unveils “Xiaomi Ice Cream” in Standard, Pro, and Max Editions

While Xiaomi is globally renowned for pushing the boundaries of mobile technology and refining the Xiaomi HyperOS experience, the company’s internal culture is just as innovative. During the recent “2026 Values Conference,” Xiaomi REDMI Product Manager Sun Cun sparked heated discussions across social media by revealing a brand-new, internally developed product: Xiaomi Ice Cream.

Adopting the company’s classic tech-tier naming conventions, the sweet treat is available in Standard, Pro, and Max configurations. Please note: As the pricing is in Chinese Yuan (CNY) and the product is an internal cafeteria item, this release is exclusively available in China for Xiaomi employees and select visitors.

The “Technical Specs” of Xiaomi Ice Cream

Just like engineering a flagship device, creating the perfect dessert requires iteration and premium components. According to Xiaomi’s official Weibo updates, the Xiaomi Ice Cream was developed by the company’s cafeteria chef, Bing Jiabao.

The “development cycle” for this product went through three major iterations to solve what the chef jokingly called the industry-wide bug of “millet having no flavor”:

  1. Initial Phase: Steaming millet until it clumps together.

  2. Beta Phase: Slowly frying the millet at low temperatures until it hardens.

  3. Stable Release: Borrowing the “cell wall breaking” process traditionally used in tofu production to grind the millet into a rich rice milk. This is then seamlessly blended with dairy milk and topped with naturally cooled, fried millet grains for added texture.

Tech enthusiasts eagle-eyed enough to analyze the shared photos also spotted that the ice cream dispenser features branding from “Mengniu,” a major Chinese dairy manufacturer, hinting at the hardware supplier for this sweet endeavor.

Pricing Tiers

The Xiaomi Ice Cream lineup mirrors the brand’s smartphone naming hierarchy, offering different “configurations” for employees based on their appetite. Here is the official pricing (converted to USD):

  • Xiaomi Ice Cream (Standard Edition): 5.99 CNY (Approx. $0.83 USD)

  • Xiaomi Ice Cream (Pro Edition): 6.99 CNY (Approx. $0.97 USD)

  • Xiaomi Ice Cream (Max Edition): 8.99 CNY (Approx. $1.24 USD)

The introduction of this product has significantly boosted internal morale, with the first batch selling out almost immediately. This isn’t Xiaomi’s first viral cafeteria creation; their yogurt twisted dough sticks previously took social media by storm. While fans urged the company to sell the dough sticks online, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun clarified that the company lacks a commercial food sales license for online retail. However, tourists and fans who visit the Xiaomi EV (electric vehicle) factory will have the opportunity to taste test these exclusive cafeteria treats.
