Xiaomi’s REDMI Buds 8S earbuds are set to launch on September 22 at 10 AM, offering notable upgrades over the previous generation. The company has officially revealed some key specifications ahead of the release.
Light and Ergonomic Build
The REDMI Buds 8S feature a semi in-ear design focused on comfort. Each earbud weighs just 4.2 grams, making them particularly lightweight. Their shape follows ergonomic principles tested using data from millions of ear scans, aiming for a secure and comfortable fit.
Audio and Noise Cancellation Enhancements
These earbuds come equipped with an 11mm dynamic driver that includes a large magnetic circuit and a multilayer composite diaphragm with a reinforced dome. Users can choose between five preset EQ sound profiles and customize the audio across 10 bands.
Noise cancellation has been significantly improved. The new generation uses an upgraded noise-cancelling algorithm that increases overall noise reduction by 70% compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the earbuds offer adaptive in-ear noise cancellation and can perform noise cancellation on a single earbud.

The REDMI Buds 8, launched in April this year, had an 11mm driver and supported up to 50dB of noise cancellation. The 8S model’s enhancements focus on better noise control and custom sound tuning. The Buds 8 had a launch price of 229 yuan (about $32.50) in China, though the 8S price has not yet been confirmed.
