Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Launched: 40mm Obstacle Clearance

Xiaomi has officially expanded its smart home lineup with the introduction of the new Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 6. Currently available on JD.com, this powerhouse automated cleaner comes in two distinct variants: a standard Water Tank Edition priced at 2,699 CNY (approximately $375 USD) and a seamless Plumbed/Auto-Water Exchange Edition priced at 3,099 CNY (approximately $430 USD). Because the pricing and initial rollout are in Chinese Yuan, it is important to note that this product has been launched exclusively in China for now, though a global release under the Xiaomi home ecosystem is highly anticipated.

Under the Hood of the Mijia Robot Vacuum 6

This isn’t just an iterative upgrade; Xiaomi has engineered the Mijia Robot Vacuum 6 to tackle some of the most frustrating aspects of automated home cleaning. Here is a technical breakdown of its standout features:

  • Extreme Suction Power: The vacuum boasts an unprecedented 28,000Pa suction power (drawing 65W on the host unit), capable of ripping stubborn dust and embedded debris out of thick carpets and deep floor crevices.

  • Industry-Leading 40mm Obstacle Clearance: Thanks to a redesigned suspension and drive system, the vacuum can effortlessly climb over 40mm thresholds, ledges, and steps.

  • Ultra-Thin 90mm Profile & Advanced AI Vision: Despite the heavy-duty hardware, the host unit (model PV32CN) is incredibly slim at just 90mm thick, allowing it to glide under low-clearance furniture. It navigates using an AI-powered dual-camera system with 220° wide-angle obstacle recognition, actively preventing the vacuum from getting stuck on slippers, cables, or toys.

  • Zero-Tangle Dual System: Hair tangles are mitigated by a “double anti-tangling” design, featuring a specialized cutting main brush that slices wound hair and a side brush optimized to prevent wrapping.

  • Self-Cleaning Base Station Mastery: The heavy lifting is done at the dock. The base station features an 80°C high-temperature hot water wash to dissolve greasy mop stains (peaking at 1700W during heating), followed by a 2-hour rapid hot air drying cycle.

  • Seamless Xiaomi HyperConnect Integration: Fully integrated into Xiaomi’s modern software ecosystem, the device supports Xiaomi HyperConnect, allowing for intelligent cross-device triggers, automated routines, and seamless control alongside your other HyperOS smartphones and smart home devices via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.2.

Available Device Models & Configurations

Users can choose between two primary hardware configurations based on their home setup:

  • Water Tank Version (Base Model PV32CN-JZ): Features a massive 4L clean water tank requiring manual refills. (Base dimensions: 347×470×550mm with ramp).

  • Plumbed / Auto-Water Version (Base Model PV32CN-RD): A “thin-embedded” base designed to connect directly to your home’s water supply and drainage for a 100% hands-free liquid management experience. (Base dimensions: 450×420×290mm).

How This Hardware Upgrade Improves the Smart Home Experience

For the end-user, the Mijia Robot Vacuum 6 translates to a “set it and forget it” lifestyle. The automatic dust collection system boasts a 75-day capacity, meaning you only need to empty the bag roughly five times a year. Furthermore, the intelligent carpet recognition automatically lifts the mop pads when transitioning from hard floors to rugs, preventing cross-contamination and wet carpets. By connecting directly to the plumbing (on the higher-end model) and utilizing an easily removable, washable cleaning tray, Xiaomi has practically eliminated the manual maintenance typically associated with robot vacuums.
