Xiaomi is expanding its AI ecosystem with a new wrist-based assistant experience powered by Xiaomi HyperOS 3. According to reports from beta testers, Xiaomi has started rolling out the new Xiaomi MiClaw smartwatch assistant feature through the Xiaomi Health app for select devices.
The feature introduces an AI assistant directly on compatible Xiaomi smartwatches, allowing users to interact with Xiaomi’s large AI model without pulling out their smartphone. Xiaomi appears to be positioning this as a major step forward for its wearable ecosystem and Xiaomi HyperConnect integration.
Xiaomi MiClaw smartwatch assistant explained
The newly introduced Xiaomi MiClaw smartwatch assistant is described as a wrist-based AI companion built on Xiaomi’s proprietary MiMo large language model.
Users can activate the assistant by pressing and holding a button on the smartwatch and speaking naturally. The watch then sends the voice request to the Xiaomi MiClaw app installed on the connected smartphone, where the AI processing takes place. The response is subsequently displayed on the watch as text.
This implementation allows users to:
- Quickly ask questions from their wrist
- Complete daily tasks hands-free
- Interact with Xiaomi AI features without opening their phone
- Use AI-assisted commands while on the move
The feature is deeply connected to Xiaomi HyperOS 3’s growing AI infrastructure and demonstrates Xiaomi’s ambition to compete with advanced wearable assistants from other major ecosystem brands.
Xiaomi HyperOS 3 beta requirements
According to the official app description, Xiaomi MiClaw smartwatch support is currently limited to beta testing users. Several requirements must be met before the feature becomes available.

Additional requirements for Xiaomi MiClaw beta access
Users must also meet several software and account conditions:
- Xiaomi MiClaw app must be installed and logged in
- The account must already be approved for Xiaomi MiClaw beta testing
- The smartwatch and phone must remain connected via Bluetooth
Because processing is currently handled through the smartphone app, the watch itself likely acts primarily as a lightweight AI interaction terminal rather than running the model locally.
Xiaomi’s AI strategy becomes more aggressive
Earlier this year, Xiaomi officially confirmed that Xiaomi MiClaw passed the mobile intelligent assistant evaluation conducted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT).
This made Xiaomi one of the first companies in China to receive certification for an intelligent mobile AI assistant platform, further strengthening the company’s push into AI-powered ecosystems.
The addition of a smartwatch AI assistant also signals Xiaomi’s broader strategy for Xiaomi HyperOS 3:
- Expanding AI across all device categories
- Strengthening Xiaomi HyperConnect ecosystem integration
- Turning wearables into standalone productivity tools
- Competing more directly with Apple Intelligence and Galaxy AI ecosystems
Market impact and availability
At the moment, the Xiaomi MiClaw smartwatch assistant remains limited to beta testers and supported flagship devices. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed a global rollout timeline.
However, the appearance of the feature inside Xiaomi Health strongly suggests Xiaomi is preparing a much larger AI-focused wearable upgrade for Xiaomi HyperOS 3 devices later this year.
As Xiaomi continues refining HyperOS AI features, tools such as MemeOS Enhancer and updates tracked through Xiaomi-focused communities will likely provide early access insights into future beta releases and hidden ecosystem features.
