Xiaomi has published the first official images of the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max ahead of their September 23 launch. The company confirmed key hardware specifications, including a 2nm processor, extremely large battery capacities, and an updated rear display. A global release for the series has also been confirmed.
Design, Colors, and AI Back Screen
The new phones feature a flat unibody design with a large micro-arc quad-curved frame to improve handling. The front of the device includes extremely thin 0.99mm screen bezels. Xiaomi revealed three colors for the series: black, white, and a new “Starry Blue” finish designed to resemble the night sky with shimmering stardust effects.
A major hardware addition is the new “versatile back screen.” Following the previous generation’s MiShare rear display—which sees over 4 million daily application uses and 3.5 million wallpaper interactions—the new secondary screen supports AI-generated applications. Users can run mini-tools directly on the back of the phone, including cooking timers, hydration trackers, Pomodoro timers, English vocabulary cards, and recipe recommendations.
Battery Upgrades and Display Technology
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series uses a new generation super pixel main screen equipped with an M11 luminescent system. Inside, both devices are powered by an unnamed 2nm flagship mobile platform.
Xiaomi has significantly increased the battery sizes by using a 32% ultra-high silicon Jinshajiang battery structure. The standard Xiaomi 18 Pro includes a 7,000 mAh battery. The larger Xiaomi 18 Pro Max increases this capacity to 8,500 mAh.
Leica Cameras and Global Availability
For photography, the series includes a Leica-branded dual 200-megapixel ultra-high-resolution imaging system. Xiaomi has not yet detailed the specific sensor sizes or lens focal lengths.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series will officially launch on September 23 at 7 PM. While the initial announcement targets the Chinese market, it is confirmed that the devices will also be sold globally.
