The global versions of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series are launching with smaller battery capacities and slower charging speeds compared to their China counterparts. The Hong Kong Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6,000 mAh battery, down from the 7,000 mAh found in the Chinese model, and supports 90 W fast charging instead of 100 W. Likewise, the global Xiaomi 18 Pro Max from Madrid uses a 7,050 mAh battery, reduced from 8,500 mAh in China, while retaining the 100 W fast charging speed.
This adjustment continues a trend Xiaomi has followed for about four years, gradually lowering battery sizes in its global flagship devices. This year, not only the battery capacity but also the charging speed is decreased for the standard global Xiaomi 18 Pro.
Key Features and Hardware
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset for the Pro model, while the Pro Max likely uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Both phones introduce a new Privacy Display feature that enhances screen protection for user data.
Camera-wise, the phones carry dual 200 MP sensors, covering the main and telephoto lenses, along with an ultrawide angle shooter. This puts the Xiaomi 18 Pro lineup at the forefront of mobile photography with very high-resolution imaging capabilities.
Rear Display Debuts Globally
Following the Xiaomi 17 Pro’s design, the Xiaomi 18 Pro series globally debuts a rear secondary display. This feature, previously exclusive to the Chinese market, allows quick notifications and camera previews on the back, aligning with Xiaomi’s growing use of secondary rear displays.
