Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable phone will feature a 6000mAh Xiaomi Sandsjiang battery. This battery uses an innovative stacking technology that achieves a high silicon content of 20% and an energy density of 920Wh/L. This allows the foldable device to maintain a slim profile without sacrificing battery life.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold supports fast charging with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities. Alongside its battery tech, the device is powered by the new XRING O3 chipset, which Xiaomi markets as the first AI flagship SoC surpassing 5 million points in benchmarks. The CPU employs a ten-core architecture and sets a new multi-core record with a score above 15,000, delivering 60% higher performance than previous generations. GPU performance also jumps, featuring the G2-Ultra NX graphics processor that improves speed by 85% and reduces power consumption by 64%.
Memory technology advances with the introduction of Changxin LPDDR6 RAM, also debuting on the Xiaomi 18 Fold. According to Changxin Technology’s mid-2026 report, LPDDR6 offers a peak data rate of 12,800Mbps with higher capacity options up to 16GB. This RAM generation improves on LPDDR5X through architectural and data transfer optimizations.
