As REDMI prepares to launch the K100 series on August 11, discussions have emerged around the naming of its next flagship lineup. REDMI Product Manager Hu Xinxin responded to fan speculation, implying the successor could be named the K200 series.
Patterns in Smartphone Series Naming
Hu Xinxin pointed out that naming the next REDMI device the K110 “feels a bit odd.” This aligns with trends seen in other brands, such as HONOR’s numeric series and vivo’s X series, which typically refresh their model names by increments of 100 after reaching the 100 mark.
This suggests REDMI is likely to continue the naming pattern and move directly to K200 for its subsequent flagship following the K100 series.
About the Upcoming REDMI K100 Series
The K100 series marks a shift in REDMI’s launch strategy. On August 11, the brand will first introduce the K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, with the standard K100 arriving later for a staggered release.
The series features Xiaomi’s first 185Hz gaming display, optimized for more than 30 popular games. The K100 Pro will debut globally with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 V Series flagship platform, while the K100 Pro Max uses the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship chip.
