Xiaomi 18 leak points to a massive 7200mAh battery

A new leak suggests that Xiaomi 18 could bring another major battery upgrade for Xiaomi’s compact flagship lineup. According to information shared by Digital Chat Station and reported by IT Home, an engineering sample of a “2nm mid-size flagship” is currently testing a 7200mAh± battery, and the device is expected to be the standard Xiaomi 18. The official launch timeline for the Xiaomi 18 series is still unknown.

New features expected on Xiaomi 18

The latest leak focuses on battery capacity, but earlier information from the same source also points to a much broader flagship upgrade. The Xiaomi 18 standard model is expected to use a 2nm flagship processor, a more compact flagship body, an ultra-clear display, extremely narrow equal bezels, 100W wired charging, wireless charging, ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, and strong water resistance.

The most interesting detail is the 7200mAh± battery. For a standard flagship model, this would be an extremely large capacity, especially if Xiaomi keeps the compact size philosophy of previous generations. Xiaomi has already been pushing high-silicon battery technology in recent devices, and the Xiaomi 18 may continue this strategy with higher density instead of simply making the phone larger.

expected hardware

  • Device: Xiaomi 18
  • Status: Leak
  • Processor: 2nm flagship chip
  • Battery: 7200mAh±
  • Charging: 100W wired fast charging
  • Wireless charging: Expected
  • Display: Ultra-clear flat display with very narrow equal bezels
  • Fingerprint: Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
  • Camera: Large-sensor dual 200MP imaging system rumored
  • Protection: High-level dust and water resistance
  • Launch date: September 2026

Market impact

If accurate, the Xiaomi 18 could become one of the strongest compact Android flagships for battery life. For comparison, IT Home notes that last year’s Xiaomi 17 used a 6.3-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 7000mAh battery, and IP66/IP68/IP69 protection. Moving from 7000mAh to around 7200mAh would show Xiaomi’s continued focus on battery endurance without abandoning premium flagship performance.
