HyperOS 4 leak reveals Xiaomi’s possible new “Liquid Glass” UI redesign

A new leaked screenshot allegedly belonging to Xiaomi HyperOS 4 has surfaced online, revealing what appears to be a redesigned theme material selector for Xiaomi’s next major operating system update. While the authenticity of the image has not yet been verified, the interface shown in the leak suggests Xiaomi may be preparing a more modern visual style focused on transparency and softer UI effects.

The screenshot displays two selectable material styles. One option appears to emphasize stronger transparency effects, while the other uses a softer visual presentation with lighter blur and cleaner layering. The overall appearance is noticeably different from current HyperOS versions and points toward a possible “Liquid Glass” inspired design direction.

HyperOS 4 may bring a more modern visual identity

According to current rumors, Xiaomi is internally testing a refreshed interface language for HyperOS 4. The company could introduce several visual improvements aimed at making the system feel cleaner and more premium, including:

  • Refined transparency effects
  • Softer blur rendering
  • Updated rounded UI components
  • Smoother animations
  • Improved depth and layering across the interface

The leaked page itself is labeled as a material style selection screen, indicating Xiaomi may allow users to choose between different visual rendering styles depending on personal preference.

At this stage, there is no confirmation whether the feature will remain exclusive to specific devices or become available system-wide.

HyperOS 4 release rumors have already started

Industry sources and early discussions suggest that Xiaomi may release HyperOS 4 around June 2026. The update is expected to be based primarily on Android 17, although some devices currently running Android 16 could reportedly receive parts of the new interface changes as well.

However, Xiaomi has not officially announced:

  • HyperOS 4 release timing
  • Supported devices
  • Official design language changes
  • Availability of the leaked theme system

Because of this, the screenshot should currently be considered an unverified early leak.

Leak appears visually polished but remains unconfirmed

Unlike many concept renders circulating online, the leaked screenshot looks relatively consistent with Xiaomi’s existing settings interface design. Typography, spacing, and UI structure appear close to current HyperOS implementations, which has led some users to believe the image may originate from an internal development build.

Still, without official confirmation from Xiaomi, it is impossible to determine whether the screenshot is genuine, an early prototype, or simply a well-made concept.
