Critical Bug Fixes for the Xiaomi 17 Series and Beyond

Xiaomi’s engineering team has just published the latest optimization progress report for Xiaomi HyperOS 3, addressing a slew of high-priority bugs reported by the community. This week’s focus is predominantly on the flagship Xiaomi 17 series, specifically tackling frustrating gallery crashes, severe battery drain, and system UI anomalies. Currently, these optimizations are being tested and rolled out for the China ROM. However, for international users, the good news is that equivalent fixes for the Global ROM are sc heduled to deploy next week.

Addressing System-Level Anomalies

While Xiaomi has not officially disclosed the exact technical root causes behind these issues—such as whether the rapid battery depletion is tied to a background sync loop or if the Gallery crashes are due to memory leaks—the acknowledgment of these bugs is a massive relief for early adopters. The development team has successfully reproduced and optimized several critical errors found in recent 3.0.3xx.0 builds.

For users experiencing the severe Photo Album crashes or image download failures, there is a reliable, immediate workaround. Rather than waiting for the pending official OTA target version to drop, users can manually update their Gallery application to the latest patched framework via MemeOSUpdates.com or directly through the MemeOS Enhancer app.

Software Versions

The latest Xiaomi HyperOS optimization bulletin targets the following specific builds and bugs:

  • Xiaomi 17 Pro Max (v3.0.306.0): Optimized a critical flaw where original photos failed to download in certain scenes, alongside a fix for app crashes triggered when selecting photos.

  • Xiaomi 17 Pro Max (v3.0.305.0): Addressed an issue causing rapid and abnormal battery drain under specific use cases.

  • Xiaomi 17 Pro Max (v3.0.304.0): Fixed a noticeable lag occurring within the password management interface.

  • Xiaomi 17 Ultra (v3.0.304.0): Resolved a UI bug where the Phone Manager would continue to display the original security score on the homepage even after optimization protocols were completed.

  • Xiaomi 17 Pro (v3.0.304.0): Fixed an intermittent unresponsiveness issue when interacting with the Xiaomi Super Island UI.

  • Xiaomi 17 (v3.0.304.0): Optimized system stability to prevent the Photo Album from crashing during routine navigation.

  • Xiaomi 15S Pro (v3.0.301.0): Patched a severe bug that caused complete system crashes when utilizing the Phone Manager for junk file cleanup.

  • Xiaomi 14 (v3.0.302.0): Addressed an OCR failure where text embedded in album images could not be properly recognized in specific scenarios.

  • REDMI K Pad 2 (v3.0.303.0): Fixed application crashes linked to the Baidu Input Method.

These incoming patches are designed to restore the seamless, flagship-level experience expected from Xiaomi HyperOS 3. By resolving the rapid battery drain on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and stabilizing the Gallery ecosystem across the entire 17 series lineup, users will experience drastically improved daily reliability and thermal performance. Because these patches are currently exclusive to the China ROM releases, international users should monitor their update centers closely, as these exact stability improvements will reflect in the Global ecosystem by next week.
