Xiaomi expands HyperOS 4 global beta: Now available for 17T and 15 Series

Following the recent rollout of the HyperOS 4 Global Beta for the flagship Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra, Xiaomi is officially widening the testing pool. The company has announced that recruitment for the highly anticipated Android 17-based update is expanding to a new wave of premium devices starting today. According to the latest official recruitment poster, the HyperOS 4 Global Beta program is now actively accepting applications for the following models:

  • Xiaomi 17T Pro
  • Xiaomi 17T
  • Xiaomi 15 Ultra
  • Xiaomi 15

The Visual Overhaul: Introducing “Soft Light Glass”

While the core system benefits from the foundation of Android 17, the most striking frontend evolution in HyperOS 4 is the introduction of the Soft Light Glass design language. Drawing heavy inspiration from “liquid glass” aesthetics, this new UI approach brings a deeply layered, translucent interface to the ecosystem. It utilizes realistic light refraction effects and dynamic blurring, moving away from flat design constraints to deliver an immersive and highly responsive visual experience. This aesthetic overhaul is expected to leverage the hardware acceleration of modern chipsets, ensuring that the complex transparency and lighting animations render flawlessly across the UI.

Powered by Android 17

Running on top of the upcoming Android 17, the latest iteration of HyperOS is set to deliver substantial under-the-hood optimizations. Beta testers can expect underlying enhancements in system-level security, optimized app launch mechanics, and refined resource management algorithms that complement the heavy visual upgrades of the Soft Light Glass interface.

How to Participate

The HyperOS 4 Global Beta is currently available exclusively for devices running Global and EEA software versions. Users interested in experiencing the Android 17 update and the new design language early can apply directly through the Xiaomi Community application. As with all beta builds, early adopters should anticipate potential stability issues as the firmware is actively developed toward its final release.
