HyperCeiler, one of the most popular customization modules for the HyperOS ecosystem, has been receiving massive updates in its Canary channel since March. The development team has not only taken the module to a whole new level but also made huge strides to make the core fully compatible with HyperOS 3.
Here is a breakdown of everything new in the latest Canary builds! You can follow the updates and download the latest versions directly from their Telegram channel: https://t.me/cemiuiler_canary.
The Great Split: OS2, OS3, and the API 101 Era
Perhaps the most critical change happened under the hood. HyperCeiler is now split into two separate branches: HyperOS 2 and HyperOS 3.
Starting with the OS3 branch, support for Xposed API 100 has been completely dropped in favor of API 101. The developers left behind the clunky nature of the old API (like not being able to manage multiple scopes simultaneously) and built a much more flexible and powerful hooking infrastructure. When downloading from the Canary channel, make sure you pick the correct package for your OS version.
A Complete UI Overhaul
HyperCeiler’s interface is now much more modern and stays true to the HyperOS design language:
-
New Home Page & Custom Bottom Bar: The main screen has been redesigned, and you can now customize the style of the bottom bar. UI stuttering during load times has also been fixed.
-
Advanced Search: Search results are now grouped by application. With new “fuzzy search” support and a Search History feature, finding the exact setting you need is easier than ever.
-
New OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience): The boring old user agreement pop-ups are gone, replaced by a sleek, modern initial setup guide.
-
Revamped Log Screen: Log details now open in a modern BottomSheet format, utilizing the system-native
HyperPopupMenu.
Highlighted New Features
The updates aren’t just cosmetic; there are some fantastic new features that will impact your daily use:
-
Bypass Cloud Control: A highly requested feature has been added to the Package Management section, allowing you to bypass Xiaomi’s remote cloud restrictions on the Package Installer.
-
Native File Picker: The module now utilizes the system’s smooth, native file and photo picker interface instead of custom solutions.
-
Revamped Guided Access: This feature was completely rewritten. To prevent accidental exits, it now requires a long press on the power button to exit, and it strictly blocks the status and navigation bars while active to avoid mis-touches.
-
Remove Translation Watermark: A new option (
RemoveScreenTransWatermark) has been added to hide the annoying watermark that appears when using the Screen Translation feature. -
Predictive Back Progress: Added a
PredictiveBackProgresshook to fully support the modern back-swipe animations on the HyperOS 3 home screen.
Stability and Optimizations
A lot of work went into the invisible parts of the app. The log and crash reporting systems were completely rebuilt using a Room database infrastructure. The Resource Hooking mechanism was optimized to work on-demand, completely preventing infinite loops and system performance drops. These massive updates are currently rolling out in the Canary (test) channel, so encountering minor bugs is normal. However, considering the solid preparation for HyperOS 3 and the rich new features, the upcoming stable release is going to be incredible.
