Xiaomi Pad users are reportedly receiving early access to a major Bilibili app optimization designed specifically for Android tablets. According to IT Home, blogger @缪特mt claimed that Bilibili’s “perfectly adapted” Android tablet version is now being rolled out gradually after version 9.0, and is currently exclusive to Xiaomi Pad devices. This update aims to merge the tablet experience into the standard Bilibili Android app, reducing the need for a separate HD version.
What changed in the new Bilibili tablet version?
The biggest improvement is the redesigned large-screen interface. According to the report, the new Bilibili app now adapts much better to Xiaomi Pad devices in both landscape and portrait modes.
In landscape mode, the app experience is said to be aligned with the older Bilibili HD version. In portrait mode, the layout reportedly follows an experience closer to the iPad version. This means Xiaomi Pad users can get a more natural tablet interface without losing the full feature set of the standard mobile app.
The key improvements include:
- Large-screen UI optimized for Android tablets
- Landscape layout similar to the previous Bilibili HD experience
- Portrait layout closer to the iPad version
- Full feature support from the regular mobile Bilibili app
- No need to install the separate Bilibili HD app, according to the blogger
- Gradual rollout after Bilibili version 9.0
- Current exclusivity for Xiaomi Pad devices
Affected devices and software versions
This is not a Xiaomi HyperOS system update, but an app-side optimization from Bilibili. However, Xiaomi Pad users are currently the first to benefit from the improved Android tablet interface.
Affected devices:
- Xiaomi Pad devices
App involved:
- Bilibili Android app
Reported version status:
- Gradual rollout after version 9.0
Current availability:
- Xiaomi Pad exclusive for now
Separate HD app requirement:
- Reportedly not required for Xiaomi Pad users receiving this new optimized version
How this improves the Xiaomi Pad experience
This update is important because Android tablets have often suffered from poorly optimized apps. Many apps simply stretch the phone interface across a larger screen, creating wasted space, awkward navigation, and a less premium experience.
With this Bilibili update, Xiaomi Pad users may get a more complete tablet layout while still using the regular Android version of the app. This makes video browsing, comment reading, account management, and content interaction more comfortable on larger displays.
The report also suggests that Bilibili may gradually merge its regular Android app and Android HD app in the future. If this happens, one Bilibili app could automatically adapt to phones, tablets, foldables, and other screen sizes.
