Xiaomi has halted plans to release the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in India, despite previously starting software testing for the model. The 2611FPNFAI model number recorded in the GSMA database is now effectively withdrawn from the Indian market. Instead, the Xiaomi 18 Pro, with the 2609BPN61I model designation, will be the only Xiaomi 18 series device officially sold in India.
Global Launch and Device Details
Xiaomi officially announced a global launch for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series scheduled for November 2026. The Xiaomi 18, another member of the series, will arrive later for both China and other markets but will not be sold in India.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro offers a flagship hardware setup that includes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for optimal performance. It features a 6.4-inch TCL M11 LTPO AMOLED display with 2436×1120 resolution, supporting a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz and peak brightness up to 4,000 nits. The screen delivers 10-bit color depth, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and full-range DC dimming. Protection comes from Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0.
Camera and Battery Specifications
Photography capabilities are led by a triple rear camera system with Leica Summilux optics, including a 50MP main sensor (Light Hunter 960L by SmartSens SCC90XS) with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor (OV51D), and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens from Samsung (S5KHP5), offering 3.2x optical zoom and 12cm telephoto macro functionality.
The front houses a 50MP OV50M selfie camera. A secondary 2.7-inch rear AMOLED display complements the setup, featuring 912×596 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate with similar peak brightness to the main display.
The 18 Pro packs a large 7,000mAh battery supported by Xiaomi’s Surge P4 fast charging chip and Surge G2 battery management chip. Charging speeds include 100W wired, 50W wireless, and reverse charging at 27W (wired) and 20W (wireless).

The device offers an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, stereo dual speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and a dedicated AI button. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and an IR blaster. The phone is IP66, IP68, and IP69 rated for water and dust resistance.
It runs Android 17 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4, promising the latest software experience. The chassis varies slightly with a thickness of 8.46mm and weight of 203g for the standard variant, while the glass version is marginally thicker and heavier at 8.56mm and 208g. Color options span Black, White, Ice Peach Pink, Galaxy Blue, and a Transparent Edition.

The confirmed absence of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in India marks a change in the local portfolio strategy. Buyers in India can expect to access the Xiaomi 18 Pro when it launches, but must look elsewhere for the Pro Max variant or import it. The Xiaomi 18 will also not be officially available in India.
