Xiaomi releases POCO Launcher April 2026 update

POCO users on the Global ROM have a new system update to install today. A fresh build of the POCO Launcher has officially started rolling out, bringing the software up to version RELEASE-6.01.05.2260-03231506. Weighing in at a highly optimized 23.04 MB, this update is currently targeted at the Global region. While it may not look like a massive overhaul on the surface, it serves as a critical follow-up patch to ensure smooth performance across the POCO ecosystem.

New Features

Technically speaking, this release does not come with an official changelog, but system data points clearly to an under-the-hood stability update. In the previous versions of the POCO Launcher, developers introduced a major, highly requested UI change: the iOS-style recent apps menu.

Whenever heavy graphical shifts like the iOS-style recents are integrated into the system framework, it can temporarily strain memory management or introduce micro-stutters during app-switching animations. This specific update addresses those exact technical bottlenecks. By optimizing how the launcher interacts with Xiaomi HyperOS’s animation engine, this patch smooths out transition drops, resolves potential background app freezes, and patches memory leaks that may have been triggered by the new recent apps layout.

How to Update

For the everyday user, this translates to a much more fluid navigation experience. If you recently enabled the iOS-style task manager and noticed minor frame drops or slight delays when swiping up to view your background applications, this 23 MB patch is designed to eliminate that friction. Launcher stability is the backbone of the smartphone experience, and keeping it optimized ensures that POCO devices retain their signature speed and responsiveness without compromising on battery life.
