Xiaomi’s China smart hardware head, @Selen7, revealed that the company once considered naming its smart home screen “HomeView.” However, this name remained only in historical documents from 2021, and Xiaomi chose to call the smart home screen simply the “Smart Home Screen” instead. The “Home” branding was ultimately given only to the router product line, which uses the name HomeWiFi.
The Xiaomi Smart Home Screen 10 debuted at the 2022 Civi 1S launch. Marketed as Xiaomi’s first flagship device designed for whole-home intelligence, it acts as a smart control center and family content hub. It features a 10.1-inch touchscreen with a slim, integrated metal and fabric design. The display supports infinite angle adjustment.
Powered by a quad-core A53 processor, the Smart Home Screen 10 includes a 5MP camera with a physical cover and stereo speakers. It runs MIUI Home and supports smart scene interconnection, whole-home remote control, Wi-Fi device connectivity, Bluetooth mesh gateway functions, and infrared remote control. Key applications include cross-screen video calls, a dedicated children’s mode, video streaming, dual-person karaoke, and Xiaomi’s music relay feature.
In December 2022, Xiaomi launched its first high-end home screen, the Smart Home Screen 11, priced at about $185 (1299 CNY). It supports seven major content platforms, includes a built-in XiaoAI assistant, and offers cross-device intelligent control with a simple voice command.
