New images taken from the leaked HyperOS 4 Setup Wizard have given us an early look at Xiaomi’s upcoming Q18 foldable. The screenshots are not separate device renders or promotional images. They are assets Xiaomi appears to be using inside HyperOS 4 to introduce the operating system’s new features.
The device shown in these Setup Wizard images uses a wide book-style foldable design and is linked to Q18, LHASA, and Xiaomi’s upcoming XRING O3 chipset. Its final commercial name is still unclear, with MIX Fold 5, Xiaomi 17 Fold, and Xiaomi 18 Fold among the names discussed so far.
MIX Fold 5 Appears Throughout the HyperOS 4 Feature Tour
The Setup Wizard images show the foldable demonstrating several HyperOS 4 features. These include the new Glass interface, redesigned lock screen, Super XiaoAI, AI Notes, widgets, and the new Xiaomi HyperConnect device center.
The foldable layout is especially noticeable in landscape mode. HyperOS 4 uses the wider inner screen for more widgets, horizontal device cards, and floating AI windows. This suggests Fold 5 is one of Xiaomi’s main reference devices for the full HyperOS 4 Glass experience.
Design Resembles Apple’s Expected Foldable iPhone
The Setup Wizard images also reveal an unusually wide foldable shape. When opened, Q18 has a landscape-oriented inner display rather than a tall tablet layout.
Interestingly, this is similar to the form factor currently expected for Apple’s first foldable iPhone, sometimes referred to in leaks as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra. That does not mean the two devices share the same design internally, but Xiaomi and Apple appear to be moving toward a similar wide book-style format for their next-generation foldables.

For now, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the Q18 commercial name, XRING O3 specifications, or launch date. However, its repeated appearance inside the HyperOS 4 Setup Wizard makes it clear that the foldable plays an important role in Xiaomi’s OS4 development.
