Xiaomi Starts HyperOS 3.3 Android 17 Public Rollout for Xiaomi 17 Series

Xiaomi has officially started rolling out the Android 17-based HyperOS 3 update for multiple flagship devices, including the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Xiaomi 15T Pro. The latest rollout brings new public Android 17 builds for the Xiaomi 17 series in Global and European regions, while the Xiaomi 15T Pro has also received its Android 17-based HyperOS 3 update as a Mi Pilot release. The update mainly focuses on system stability, user experience improvements, and the June 2026 security patch.

This rollout is an important step for Xiaomi’s global software strategy, as the company begins expanding Android 17 firmware to its latest flagship devices. While the update does not bring major visual changes, it upgrades the Android base and prepares supported devices for future HyperOS improvements.

Xiaomi 17 Series Gets Android 17 Update

The Xiaomi 17 series has now started receiving Android 17-based HyperOS 3 updates in both Global and European regions. Unlike the Xiaomi 15T Pro rollout, the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra builds are listed as public releases, meaning they are being distributed more widely rather than only through the Mi Pilot testing channel.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, codenamed Nezha, has received the OS3.0.332.0.XPAEUXM build in Europe and the OS3.0.332.0.XPAMIXM build globally. Both versions are based on Android 17 and include the June 2026 security patch. The update package size is around 9.5GB.

The standard Xiaomi 17, codenamed Pudding, has also received Android 17-based HyperOS 3 builds. The European version is rolling out with build number OS3.0.331.0.XPCEUXM, while the Global version comes with OS3.0.332.0.XPCMIXM. Both updates are public releases and have an update size of around 7.5GB.

Xiaomi 15T Pro Also Receives Android 17 Update

Alongside the Xiaomi 17 series, Xiaomi has also released the Android 17-based HyperOS 3 update for the Xiaomi 15T Pro global variant. The device, codenamed Klimt, received the OS3.0.331.0.XOSMIXM build as a Mi Pilot release.

This means the Xiaomi 15T Pro update is currently limited to selected users before a wider rollout begins. The update package size is around 7.5GB, making it a major system upgrade rather than a small monthly patch.

  • Correction: Improvements to system stability and user experience.
  • Security patch update for June 2026. Enhanced system security.

What This Update Means for Users

The Android 17-based HyperOS 3 update does not appear to introduce major interface changes. Instead, Xiaomi is focusing on framework-level improvements, system stability, app compatibility, and security. This is especially important because Android 17 brings a newer system foundation for future Xiaomi software updates.

For Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra users, the public release status is a strong sign that Xiaomi is confident in the stability of these builds. Xiaomi 15T Pro users, however, may need to wait a little longer for the update to expand beyond the Mi Pilot channel.

Should You Install the Android 17 Update?

If the update is available on your device through the system updater, it can be installed as a regular OTA package. However, since these are large system upgrades ranging from 7.5GB to 9.5GB, users should back up important data before updating.

It is also recommended to keep enough free storage space and charge the battery before installation. Major Android base updates can take longer to install than standard monthly security updates.
