Xiaomi president and mobile division head Lu Weibing has teased an upcoming product launch event planned for September. His recent social media post simply said, “Awaiting September, full of excitement,” sparking fan speculation about new Xiaomi releases.
The comment section included a mention of “Xiaomi’s great gathering” products, to which Lu Weibing replied with an emoji, subtly confirming that something significant related to Xiaomi’s “大会师” (literally “great gathering”) theme is on the way.
Background on Xiaomi’s “The Grand Gathering” Vision
At the 2025 Xiaomi “Million Technology Award” ceremony held in January, CEO Lei Jun unveiled the company’s ambitious plan for 2026. Xiaomi aims to achieve what it calls the “The Grand Gathering” milestone by integrating three core in-house technologies into a single terminal device:
- XRING O3
- HyperOS 4
- AI large model
This marks a step toward deeper vertical integration, combining hardware and software advances to deliver a unified experience.

Strong AI Integration in Xiaomi’s Upcoming Products
Lei Jun also highlighted that about two-thirds of Xiaomi’s 2025 technology award-winning projects involve AI technology. This AI-driven approach touches multiple areas such as new materials, chip design, OS improvements, intelligent driving systems, and smart home appliances.
This reinforces the idea that the “The Grand Gathering” event expected this September could showcase Xiaomi devices equipped with advanced AI capabilities built on its proprietary OS and chipsets.
Potential Device Candidates for the September Announcement
While Xiaomi has not officially revealed which devices will form part of the “The Grand Gathering” launch, industry analysts suspect the Xiaomi 18 Pro series and Xiaomi MIX FOLD 5 could be involved. This is based on its flagship positioning and upcoming technology cycles aligned with the company’s 2026 roadmap.
Previous reporting confirmed the Xiaomi 18 Pro series as a key platform for new software and hardware innovations, including potential HyperOS updates and AI features.
