Xiaomi continues to aggressively expand its premium lifestyle and smart home ecosystem with the official launch of the Xiaomi Mijia High-Speed Water Ion Hair Dryer Pro. Unveiled today, this next-generation personal care device introduces advanced thermal regulation technology and an upgraded propulsion system. Currently launched exclusively in China, this device bridges the gap between salon-grade hardware and intelligent consumer electronics.
Engineering & Core Features
At the heart of the new Mijia Hair Dryer Pro is an upgraded 120,000 RPM high-speed motor, capable of generating a rapid airflow of 72 meters per second. This aerodynamic efficiency allows for ultra-fast drying times, clocked at just 30 seconds for standard everyday use.
Beyond raw power, the device is engineered with precision thermal management. It features a digital screen knob that allows users to seamlessly dial in exact temperatures ranging from 30°C to 90°C. The standout hardware integration is the built-in TOF (Time-of-Flight) sensor. This sensor acts as a dual constant temperature scalp protection system by actively monitoring the physical distance between the air outlet and the user’s scalp in real-time. As the dryer moves closer to the head, the system automatically calibrates and lowers the air temperature to prevent heat damage.
Additionally, the device utilizes dual-effect hydration technology, combining both water ions and negative ions to neutralize static, smooth frizz, and maintain the microecological balance of the scalp.

By introducing real-time spatial awareness (via the TOF sensor) to a traditional grooming product, Xiaomi is significantly minimizing the risk of thermal hair damage—a major pain point in consumer hair care. This aggressive integration of smart sensors disrupts the premium market, especially given the pricing strategy. The device is priced at roughly $117 (799 CNY), with early government-subsidized promotions bringing the cost down to approximately $105 (719.1 CNY). Please note that, as of this announcement, the product is available exclusively in the Chinese market.
