Battery Upgrades in Xiaomi Models
Xiaomi’s official policy distinguishes between ordinary battery replacements and battery upgrades. A standard replacement uses a new battery of the same capacity, while a battery upgrade involves replacing the original battery with a higher-capacity one. This approach has previously been applied to several 13-series models:
- Xiaomi 13: improved from 4500mAh to 4850mAh, about 7.8% increase
- Xiaomi 13 Pro: raised from 4820mAh to 5361mAh, roughly 11% increase
- Xiaomi 13 Ultra: upgraded from 5000mAh to 5500mAh, around 10% increase
The Xiaomi 14 Pro follows this trend with its new official battery upgrade offering a modest but clear improvement in capacity.
Future Battery Upgrade Availability
Xiaomi announced in June that new battery upgrade support for the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro will be available starting in the fourth quarter of 2026. The current update suggests incremental progress toward that goal, although official announcements are awaited for exact rollout details.
