Xiaomi 17 Max launch event officially scheduled for tomorrow

Xiaomi has officially revealed new details about the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max launch event. Xiaomi President Lu Weibing confirmed that he will host a special “Max Summer” outdoor livestream tomorrow at 5 PM Beijing time, where the company is expected to reveal major information about the Xiaomi 17 Max alongside several new AIoT products.

The announcement significantly expands what we know about Xiaomi’s upcoming large-screen flagship and confirms that the Xiaomi 17 Max launch strategy will focus heavily on ecosystem integration, battery life, and outdoor lifestyle usage.

Lu Weibing confirms Xiaomi 17 Max livestream event

According to Lu Weibing’s official statement, Xiaomi has recently received massive interest regarding:

  • Xiaomi 17 Max release date
  • Performance capabilities
  • Battery life expectations
  • Rising memory and storage prices
  • Overall flagship positioning

To address these questions, Xiaomi will host a dedicated livestream event branded as “Max Summer.” The presentation will not focus only on smartphones, but also on Xiaomi’s expanding ecosystem products.

The executive confirmed the livestream will showcase:

  • Xiaomi 17 Max
  • Xiaomi Clip-on Earphones
  • Mijia Air Purifier 6 Max
  • Mijia Strong Wind Series Air Conditioner
  • Mijia Refrigerator Pro French-Style 508L
  • Mijia Robot Vacuum & Mop 6 Max

This reinforces Xiaomi’s long-term “Human × Car × Home” ecosystem strategy, where smartphones remain the central control hub for connected devices powered through Xiaomi HyperConnect.

Xiaomi 17 Max positioning becomes clearer

Xiaomi previously described the Xiaomi 17 Max as a device that redefines the “large-screen standard flagship” category. Unlike Ultra models that mainly emphasize cameras, the Xiaomi 17 Max appears to prioritize a balanced flagship experience across every major category.

Based on official teasers and previous leaks, the Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to feature:

  • 6.9-inch 1.5K flat display
  • Ultra-thin symmetrical bezels
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite successor platform
  • 200MP primary camera
  • 50MP telephoto macro camera
  • Leica imaging system
  • 8000mAh battery
  • 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner
  • Advanced cooling system
  • Full-level water resistance
  • Symmetrical stereo speakers

Xiaomi executives are especially emphasizing battery life and thermal performance. Lu Weibing previously stated that the Xiaomi 17 Max will deliver the strongest battery endurance in Xiaomi history.

Xiaomi 17 Max design still resembles Xiaomi 15

One unusual detail continues attracting attention among Xiaomi fans. Despite being marketed as a new-generation Xiaomi 17 series device, the Xiaomi 17 Max design language still looks extremely similar to the Xiaomi 15 series.

The flat aluminum frame, rounded-square Leica camera island, and overall rear-panel structure strongly resemble the current Xiaomi 15 industrial design rather than introducing a fully refreshed Xiaomi 17-series appearance.

This may suggest Xiaomi is prioritizing internal upgrades such as cooling, battery density, and performance optimization over dramatic visual redesigns this year.

Xiaomi Clip-on Earphones will debut alongside the phone

The livestream will also introduce Xiaomi’s first clip-on wireless earbuds. Xiaomi previously confirmed several premium features for the earbuds, including:

  • Lightweight 5.5g design
  • Memory titanium wire structure
  • LHDC 5.0 audio transmission
  • Hi-Res certification
  • Large driver unit
  • Triple microphone array
  • AI-powered call noise reduction
  • Reverse sound wave leakage reduction

Xiaomi appears to be targeting the growing open-ear audio market currently dominated by Huawei and other lifestyle-focused brands.

Memory price increases may affect flagship pricing

Lu Weibing also referenced growing concerns regarding rising memory prices. Xiaomi executives previously warned that DRAM and storage costs have increased dramatically compared to last year, affecting the entire consumer electronics industry.

Despite this, Chinese insiders currently predict the Xiaomi 17 Max may start at around 5,199 yuan, approximately $720. Since the device is currently confirmed only for China, final global availability remains unknown.
