REDMI K100 series to support 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging

Xiaomi is reportedly fast-tracking the release of its next-generation flagship series, namely the REDMI K100 Pro and REDMI  K100 Pro Max. These two “Pro” models bring a dual large-screen lineup geared towards all-around high performance, pushing Xiaomi’s tradition of aggressive specs and strong overall balance. Early certifications and leaks have started unveiling the confirmed specs and charging capabilities, elevating expectations for the upcoming series.

Technical Overview and Leak Breakdown

Reliable insider @DigitalChatStation revealed on July 16 that Xiaomi is advancing the launch timeline for its new flagship iteration, the REDMI K100 series. The series will debut first with two Pro-tier models differentiated by screen size and feature loadout:

  • Pro Max: Positioned as the large-screen flagship with the most comprehensive hardware, maintaining Xiaomi’s signature “innovative flair” with premium components.
  • Pro: A more compact flagship that reportedly ranks among the very few truly balanced midsize flagships on the market, borrowing extensively from Pro Max’s core capabilities.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi received regulatory approval for a new model, M511CD, which is widely believed to be part of the Redmi K100 series and supports 100W wired fast charging.

According to IT Home’s previous reports, the Redmi K100 series will pack the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite (referred to as Snapdragon 8E5 in some Chinese leaks) dual-chip platform. It will feature an ultra-smooth 185Hz flat display, an exceptionally large 8000mAh+ battery, and a 200MP main sensor for professional-grade photography. Additional premium features include 50W wireless charging, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, full high-tier waterproofing, and both telephoto and macro lenses.

Market Impact and System Improvements

The Redmi K100 series is poised to reaffirm Xiaomi’s competitive edge in the flagship segment by offering top-tier hardware that caters to both large-screen enthusiasts and fans of well-rounded, midsize form factors. The inclusion of ultra-high refresh rates and the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform promises exceptional performance and smooth multitasking.

The massive battery capacity combined with fast wired and wireless charging options ensures excellent battery life and convenience, addressing a core pain point among power users.

Its advanced imaging system with a 200MP sensor is expected to elevate mobile photography standards within Xiaomi’s portfolio and rival key global competitors. The series is likely to retain premium features like advanced waterproofing and ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, thus appealing to a broader premium user base.

For context, the current Redmi K90 Pro Max launched in China starting at about 599 USD (3999 CNY), with recent price hikes pushing it to roughly 628 USD. As the K100 series succeeds this lineup, pricing will be monitored closely but is expected to reflect enhancements.
