REDMI K100 series may launch much earlier than expected

The next generation of REDMI’s flagship killer lineup may arrive significantly earlier this year. According to well-known Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, the upcoming REDMI K100 series is currently planned for a Q3 2026 debut instead of the usual late-Q4 launch window. This would mark a major strategy shift for Xiaomi’s sub-brand and could accelerate competition in the flagship smartphone market ahead of Qualcomm’s next chipset cycle.

The leak also hints that Xiaomi may be preparing multiple high-end variants, including the standard REDMI K100 and a more premium REDMI K100 Pro Max model. Internally, the devices are reportedly associated with the “Q11” and “Q11X” internal model numbers.

Digital Chat Station hints at an early launch

In a new Weibo post published on May 15, Digital Chat Station stated that the “next flagship iteration of the sub-series” could arrive “as early as Q3.” When users asked whether only one variant would launch early, the leaker clarified that “they are all sent in advance,” strongly suggesting the entire REDMI K100 lineup could debut earlier than usual.

Another commenter speculated that the REDMI K100 series may officially launch in September 2026, which aligns with the accelerated timeline.

Digital Chat Station has a long track record of accurately revealing Xiaomi hardware details months before launch, making this report particularly noteworthy for REDMI fans.

REDMI K100 Pro Max could become the new Ultra-tier replacement

One of the most interesting parts of the leak is the possible “REDMI K100 Pro Max” branding. Xiaomi has experimented with different naming strategies in recent years, and this could represent a new positioning approach for the K-series lineup.

If Xiaomi follows its current global branding strategy, the REDMI K100 series would likely remain China-exclusive initially, while global markets could receive rebranded versions under the POCO lineup. Xiaomi has repeatedly used this strategy for previous REDMI K-series devices.

The internal names “Q11” and “Q11X” may indicate two separate flagship configurations:

  • Q11 → Standard REDMI K100
  • Q11X → Higher-end REDMI K100 Pro Max

At the moment, no official specifications have been confirmed, but early rumors suggest Xiaomi is preparing major camera and performance upgrades for the series.

Earlier launch could change Xiaomi’s flagship strategy

An earlier REDMI K100 launch would allow Xiaomi to:

  • Compete sooner with upcoming Snapdragon flagship devices
  • Extend the sales cycle before the Chinese New Year period
  • Increase momentum ahead of the Xiaomi 17T series global launch cycle
  • Better position REDMI against rival performance-focused brands

This strategy could also help Xiaomi synchronize launches more efficiently across China and global markets.
