The REDMI K100 may make its first official appearance at ChinaJoy 2026, ahead of the series’ expected launch in China. New information found in Mi Code also points to a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a TCL AMOLED display, a 200MP main camera, and up to 100W wired charging.
ChinaJoy will begin on July 31 and continue until August 3. REDMI is expected to use the event to show the standard K100’s new design and some of its main features. However, a full retail launch date has not yet been confirmed.
Horizontal Camera Design Expected
An early teaser appears to show a new horizontal camera section on the back of the phone. This would give the K100 a different look from the previous generation.
REDMI is also expected to organize gaming activities, interactive challenges, and prize events during ChinaJoy. These promotions fit the K series’ focus on performance and mobile gaming.
The standard REDMI K100 may be the only model shown at the event. The REDMI K100 Pro Max is expected to appear later, possibly after Xiaomi introduces HyperOS 4.
Mi Code Confirms Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
Information found and verified through Mi Code shows that both known K100 models use the SM8850 platform. This is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s 2025 flagship processor.
This means REDMI may keep the same processor generation used in its previous flagship cycle rather than waiting for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The newer chipset has not yet been launched.
The detected models are:
- Athens: REDMI K100 / POCO F9 Pro
- Songyuan: REDMI K100 Pro Max / POCO F9 Ultra
The REDMI K100 carries the internal model identifier Q11, while the K100 Pro Max uses Q11X.
TCL AMOLED Display With 185Hz Refresh Rate
Mi Code information also identifies TCL as the display panel supplier. The phones are expected to use AMOLED panels with refresh rates of up to 185Hz.
An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is also listed. Unlike basic optical readers, an ultrasonic sensor reads the fingerprint using sound waves beneath the display.
The exact screen size and resolution have not yet been confirmed.
Large Batteries and Wireless Charging
The Chinese version of the standard REDMI K100, codenamed Athens, is expected to include a battery larger than 8,000mAh.
The Songyuan model, believed to be the REDMI K100 Pro Max, is listed with a 10,000mAh battery for China.
Reported charging specifications include:
- 100W wired charging
- 50W wireless charging
- IP-rated dust and water protection
The exact IP certification level has not yet been identified.
200MP Main Camera Planned
The REDMI K100 series is also expected to use a 200MP main camera. The available information does not identify the sensor model or confirm whether both devices will use the same camera setup.
Other rear cameras, optical zoom support, and video recording specifications remain unknown.
HyperOS 3.1 Expected at Launch
The REDMI K100 is expected to ship with HyperOS 3.1 in China. It may later receive HyperOS 4 based on Android 17, although Xiaomi has not yet announced an update schedule for the phone.
The expected global counterparts are the POCO F9 Pro and POCO F9 Ultra. The current evidence connects Athens with the POCO F9 Pro and Songyuan with the POCO F9 Ultra, but Xiaomi and POCO have not announced their global launch plans. For now, the first official details may arrive when ChinaJoy opens on July 31.
