The Xiaomi 18 Pro, codenamed VENICE with model number M261DB for China 26122PN61G for global, is confirmed to be launching globally. Unlike previous models limited to China, this Pro-tier flagship will be available in Turkey, the EEA, Russia, Taiwan, Japan, and other global markets, but not India.
Back Screen Feature Returns for Global Users
The Xiaomi 17 Pro introduced a distinctive rear display that gained strong popularity, but it remained exclusive to the Chinese market, which disappointed international fans. Xiaomi announced in early 2025 that the 18 Pro would continue this rear screen feature. With the global release now confirmed, users outside China will finally experience the rear screen on the 18 Pro, a feature absent on many other flagship phones.
Hardware and Camera Innovations
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. Its camera setup includes two new 200MP sensors from SmartSens, featuring a large 1/1.28-inch 3.0 LOFIC sensor for the main camera and another 200MP sensor for secondary shooting. The device will also integrate an AI button, presumably to enhance photography and smart features.
Sales Targets and Market Strategy
Xiaomi sold 5.08 million units of the 17 series in China by the 22nd week of 2026. The company aims to replicate this success globally with the 18 Pro series. The availability across multiple regions indicates Xiaomi’s intent to expand its premium flagship reach beyond China while excluding the Indian market for reasons not yet confirmed.
