Xiaomi has finally started rolling out the long-awaited HyperOS 3 update for the Xiaomi 13T, ending one of the longest waiting periods among eligible Xiaomi devices. While many models had already received HyperOS 3 earlier this year, Xiaomi 13T users had to wait until June due to extended testing around the device’s new Android 16-based kernel. The update is now available for the Indonesia region with build number OS3.0.1.0.WMFIDXM, bringing Android 16, a newer kernel, major system optimizations, refreshed visuals, Xiaomi HyperIsland, and the April 2026 security patch.
What Caused the Delay?
The Xiaomi 13T HyperOS 3 rollout appears to have taken longer than expected because Xiaomi was testing a new Android 16 kernel for this model. The update includes kernel version 6.12.38-android16, which is a major technical change compared to regular monthly system updates.
Kernel-level upgrades require deeper testing because they directly affect performance scheduling, memory handling, battery consumption, graphics rendering, app stability, and hardware compatibility. This likely explains why the Xiaomi 13T received HyperOS 3 much later than many other devices.
The update package is also quite large, arriving at around 6.5GB, because it includes both the HyperOS 3 major upgrade and the Android 16 platform update.
Major Changes in HyperOS 3 for Xiaomi 13T
HyperOS 3 brings several major system-level improvements to the Xiaomi 13T. Xiaomi has focused heavily on smoother performance, better memory management, reduced power consumption, and a more refined visual experience.
The update includes refined compiler instructions that improve system responsiveness while lowering power usage. Xiaomi has also improved memory allocation and recovery, helping the device keep more usable memory available during daily usage. One of the most noticeable new features in HyperOS 3 is Xiaomi HyperIsland. This feature combines notification spotlight behavior with device notifications, allowing users to follow important system activities more easily from one place.
The new interface makes key updates easier to see at a glance, while smoother switching between islands improves the overall multitasking experience. Users can also pull down to expand small windows, making it easier to handle multiple tasks without fully switching apps.
For Xiaomi 13T users who waited several extra months, HyperIsland is one of the most visible upgrades that makes the update feel like a true major system refresh.

Still waiting for the 3rd update with Android 16. Is there any information on when it can be expected in Germany for the Xiaomi T13 Pro?
This uodate has been released like more than a week ago. I just wish the global devices has gotten it first but oh well. Second stage of waiting game it is. An info that a global update was released this week but unfortunately it was a fake according to someone giving some users a false hope.
Xiaomi is using Indonesians a guinea pigs for this new firmware.
The kernel version of the HyperOS 3.0 on the Xiaomi 13T is quite a bit more modern than even the Xiaomi 15 Ultra on HyperOS 3.1.
Hopefully it’ll be a great update, but I’ve never seen Xiaomi be so cautious about a firmware, so I wouldn’t update to it until other people give some feedback first.

As a long-time Xiaomi supporter, I am deeply disappointed. We are already at the end of June, almost July, and there is still no HyperOS 3 update for the 13T.
Xiaomi announced three months ago that HyperOS 3 would be coming to all eligible devices, yet many users are still waiting without any clear explanation or timeline.
This is extremely frustrating. Loyal customers have shown patience and trust in the brand, but the lack of communication and the endless delay make it feel like Xiaomi has misled its users.
Xiaomi needs to be more transparent and stop keeping its customers waiting in uncertainty.

Xiaomi, with its terrible update schedule, practically cannot compete with Apple or Samsung. Even in the next hundred years, the situation will remain the same. Xiaomi does not value its customers. I have a 13T, but unfortunately, I haven’t received any updates for 6 months, and my device has bugs.

If there is a huge issue with the 13t hyper os 3, then , replace it with a newer model. It’s a mid range phone, we spent much money on it (approximately 500€) and we were promised updates. Instead, for the last six months, there have been no updates! As for security updates, there have been none, too. Instead of testing a new kernel and making us wait and wait and wait, just release an update with the kernel that literally all the other Xiaomi devices have!
It’s slowly becoming embarrassing for Xiaomi.
They can’t even manage to keep their promises.

As a loyal customer who has supported Xiaomi for many years, I genuinely feel let down. At times, it even seems as though the company is toying with its own customers rather than treating them with the transparency and respect they deserve.
From my perspective, Xiaomi’s handling of this situation comes across as dismissive and disrespectful toward its customers. When I contacted customer support by email to ask when the Xiaomi 13T would receive the HyperOS 3.0 update, the responses I received were generic, meaningless, and ultimately unhelpful. They provided no useful information and failed to address my concerns in any meaningful way.

It’e July 13 and I’m still not able to update me 13T to Android 16 while living in Pakistan and i will not update to Android 16 without knowing the feedback of the update to know if it has green line issues on their
