Xiaomi Renames System Launcher to Hyper Launcher in New Update

Xiaomi has released a new version of its system launcher, now promoted under the Hyper Launcher name in Xiaomi’s own blog-style wording. The latest package, com.miui.home RELEASE-7.00.11.7643-06051136-R, brings a more refined HyperOS visual experience with wider blur usage, redesigned folder customization, and deeper framework-level changes. However, this update is not universal, as it only works properly on selected Xiaomi devices that already support the newer Rust + Flutter-based launcher architecture.

What’s New in Hyper Launcher

The biggest visible change in this release is the stronger use of blur effects across the launcher interface. Based on the shared screenshots, Xiaomi has expanded blur to more areas of the home screen, app drawer, shortcut menus, desktop settings panel, and recent apps interface. This makes the launcher feel closer to the modern HyperOS design language, where depth, transparency, and layered UI elements are becoming more important.

Another major improvement is the new folder customization system. Users can now edit folders with more visual flexibility, including different folder sizes such as Regular, Enlarged, and XXL. The folder editing page also includes a cleaner layout, preview area, and an option to sort apps automatically. This gives users more control over how folders appear on the home screen, especially on larger Xiaomi devices.

Technical Changes Behind the Update

This launcher version is more than a simple visual update. The package clearly shows Xiaomi’s transition toward a newer launcher base using Flutter and Rust components. Libraries such as libhyper_os_flutter.so, libapp_launcher.so, libapp.so, and librust_aml_sdk.so suggest that Xiaomi is continuing to modernize the launcher engine instead of relying only on the older MIUI-style framework.

This matters because Flutter can help Xiaomi build smoother, more flexible interface components, while Rust may improve performance, memory safety, and long-term maintainability. In simple terms, Hyper Launcher is becoming a more advanced system component, not just a basic home screen app. This version may not work on every HyperOS phone. Devices that do not include the required Rust and Flutter launcher libraries may experience crashes, missing features, or installation failure.

How the Update Improves the System

For supported devices, Hyper Launcher makes the HyperOS home screen feel more premium and visually consistent. The wider blur implementation improves depth perception, while the new folder tools make the launcher more customizable for users who organize many apps. The updated desktop settings panel also gives the system a cleaner and more modern look.

The update also shows Xiaomi’s long-term direction for HyperOS. Instead of only adding small UI changes, Xiaomi is rebuilding important system apps with newer technologies. This could make future launcher updates faster, smoother, and easier to expand with new features.

Users who want to try the new Hyper Launcher RELEASE-7.00.11.7643-06051136-R can download and install it through MemeOSUpdates or the MemeOS Enhancer app. However, users should be careful because this release is designed only for selected Rust + Flutter-supported Xiaomi devices. If your device is not compatible, it is better to wait for the official OTA rollout or a stable launcher version prepared for your model.
