Xiaomi has officially revealed a stunning new “Volcanic Gray” color option for the upcoming Xiaomi YU7 GT, giving fans another closer look at the company’s first high-performance SUV coupe before its official debut later this month. The newly showcased finish combines a dark metallic gray tone with sporty aerodynamic styling, reinforcing Xiaomi’s aggressive expansion in the EV market. The company also confirmed that additional color variants are gradually arriving at dealerships across China.
Xiaomi YU7 GT gets a premium “Volcanic Gray” design
According to Xiaomi Auto, the new “Volcanic Gray” finish was inspired by volcanic landscapes hidden under early morning mist. The color uses a high-purity gray base combined with nano-level mineral particles, creating a layered metallic texture that changes subtly depending on lighting conditions.
The official teaser images actually label the vehicle as the Xiaomi YU7 GT, suggesting Xiaomi is heavily promoting the performance-focused variant ahead of launch. The design appears significantly sportier than previous YU7 previews, featuring:
- Aggressive front bumper air intakes
- Large aerodynamic rear diffuser
- GT-specific sporty wheels
- Red brake calipers
- Continuous rear LED light bar
- Coupe-style SUV silhouette
The overall styling gives the Xiaomi YU7 GT a more mature and premium appearance compared to traditional performance SUVs in its segment.
More Xiaomi YU7 colors are coming
Xiaomi Auto also confirmed that more YU7 color variants are now arriving at dealerships. One newly added option is called “Sunset Purple”, which joins the growing list of finishes planned for the YU7 lineup.
At the moment, the Xiaomi YU7 GT is only available for static showroom displays. Xiaomi says customers will be able to experience the vehicle’s interior after the official launch event scheduled for the end of May.
This strategy mirrors Xiaomi’s earlier rollout approach for the Xiaomi SU7 series, where the company gradually expanded showroom exposure before full market availability.
Xiaomi expands YU7 dealership coverage across China
Xiaomi revealed that the YU7 display vehicles are now distributed across 361 stores in China. Some of the largest regional deployments include:
- Guangdong: 52 stores
- Zhejiang: 49 stores
- Jiangsu: 43 stores
- Beijing: 17 stores
- Shandong: 17 stores
- Sichuan: 16 stores
- Shanghai: 16 stores
The company noted that delivery timings may vary depending on dealership logistics, meaning some locations could receive the new colors slightly later than others.
