iOS 17 successfully ported to REDMI K90 Pro Max

A developer team has successfully ported Apple’s iOS 17 to the REDMI K90 Pro Max. The project currently supports several key hardware components, including GPU graphics rendering, multi-core CPU scheduling, 120Hz screen refresh, and USB data connectivity.

The developer Jiang Ling Xia Cao announced the project progress, confirming that much of the core system works on the REDMI K90 Pro Max. They plan to release the source code openly via the UniXNU repository. This will allow global developers to contribute to feature improvements and bug fixes.

Future work will focus on enabling Wi-Fi connectivity, screen brightness controls, and the installation of IPA app packages. There is also a plan to establish a private server environment to expand deeper system-level functions if conditions allow.

However, many peripheral hardware components remain unsupported. Camera modules, power and volume buttons, cellular communication modems, and speakers do not function yet. This means the device is far from usable for daily tasks on iOS 17.

This project shows progress in running iOS on non-Apple smartphones but still faces major challenges before reaching full usability.

Users interested in tracking this development or viewing the source can follow the UniXNU code repository upon its official open-source release.

Users can check update status and system app versions for Xiaomi devices through the MemeOS Enhancer app on Google Play, though this particular project is independent of official Xiaomi updates.
