Xiaomi officially sets September launch for Xiaomi 18 Pro series

Xiaomi has announced that it will unveil the Xiaomi 18 Pro series by the end of September 2026. The lineup will include the Xiaomi 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and the Xiaomi 18 Fold, marking a significant month for the brand’s flagship releases.

18 Fold to Debut Xuanjie O3 AI Processor

The Xiaomi 18 Fold will spearhead the launch as the first device to feature the new XRING O3 AI flagship processor. This foldable model is part of the larger Xiaomi 18 family arriving this September and is expected to showcase top-tier performance aligned with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC generation.

Alongside the 18 Fold, Xiaomi’s Mi Pad 9 Pro Max will also launch equipped with the same XRING O3 chip, expanding the processor’s reach to Xiaomi’s tablet lineup.

Staggered Release for Xiaomi 18 Standard Edition

The standard Xiaomi 18 model, codenamed Venice, will not launch with the Pro variants. Instead, its release is planned for December 2026 or early January 2027. This staggered timing suggests Xiaomi is prioritizing its Pro and foldable flagships first.

Unlike the Pro models codenamed hongkong (18 Pro) and madrid (18 Pro Max), the standard 18 will not be officially sold in India, where only the Pro variants will be available. Other markets are expected to carry the full lineup.

Transparent Edition Returns

Xiaomi will revive the transparent design option for the 18 series, a feature last seen with the Mi 10 Ultra and earlier models like the Mi 8 and Mi 9. This design choice adds a distinct visual appeal to the series and may attract buyers looking for unique aesthetics.

Processor and Naming Details

All known Xiaomi 18 series models will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset line. The 18 Fold features the XRING O3, an AI-focused flagship processor reportedly developed to enhance performance and power efficiency.
