Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Smart Pet Water Dispenser 2 Sterilization Edition on JD.com, priced at 199 yuan (about $29). The device will officially launch on August 25 and focuses on maintaining clean, safe drinking water for pets with a 99% sterilization rate.
Design and Water Capacity
The water dispenser measures 190×230×180mm and features a transparent window for easy water level monitoring. Its top section includes a slanted drinking tray designed to reduce neck strain for pets while drinking. The main body and water tray are seamlessly connected with rounded corners to make cleaning easier. It uses a quick-release structure for simple disassembly and carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, allowing direct washing after securely sealing the charging port.
With a 3-liter water storage capacity, the unit can supply enough water for a single cat for about 15 days.
Filtration and Sterilization System
The dispenser integrates a UV-C sterilization water pump that achieves a 99% sterilization rate. This is combined with a four-stage filtration system consisting of high-density microporous PP cotton, activated carbon particles, mixed ion-exchange resin, and antibacterial cotton. This setup effectively filters hair and impurities while purifying the water.
To enhance safety, the water pump automatically stops running when water levels are too low.
Battery Life and Operation Modes
The device includes a 4000mAh battery that can last up to 90 days on a full charge. This wireless design allows flexible placement anywhere in the home without being tethered to a power source.
Users can select from three working modes based on their needs: sensor-triggered water dispensing, intermittent dispensing, or continuous dispensing requiring a power connection.
Smart Features and Connectivity
The water dispenser supports the Xiaomi Mijia app, enabling owners to receive real-time updates on water level, battery status, and filter condition. It also offers the ability to link with other Xiaomi smart home devices for customizable automation scenarios.

The product is currently announced for China and launches at the end of August.
