Xiaomi has officially previewed the REDMI K100 Pro Max ahead of its August 11 launch in China. The new flagship arrives in a dark Cabernet Sauvignon Red finish, with a flat-sided metal body, large rounded corners and a camera island that strongly recalls Apple’s recent iPhone Pro design language—before the iPhone 18 series has even been announced.
The REDMI K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max will be introduced at 7 PM local time on August 11. Xiaomi calls them “full-mark flagships,” promising major upgrades in performance, display, imaging and battery life.
Cabernet Sauvignon Red has an Apple-like premium character
The first official K100 Pro Max images show a deep wine-red metal finish. Its muted, premium-looking tone is far from the bright gaming colors often used by performance phones, and instead feels closer to the refined color direction associated with Apple’s Pro models.
The phone has a flat 6.9-inch display with very thin bezels, a flat metal side frame and noticeably large display corners. Its frame is not completely flat, however: REDMI uses four curved edges to make the large device look softer in the hand.
The camera island resembles an iPhone Pro, with a REDMI twist
At the rear, the K100 Pro Max uses a large rounded-square camera island positioned in the upper-left corner. The layout, raised metal surround and multiple large circular lenses create a visual link with iPhone Pro models.
REDMI has added its own identity to the design. The fourth large circular element is a Bose-branded speaker, while a new floating light ring can react to music. This makes the rear panel more expressive than an iPhone while keeping a premium, minimalist direction.
According to Digital Chat Station, the K100 Pro Max is also expected to include a periscope telephoto camera and an independent Bose 2.1-channel speaker setup. Xiaomi has not confirmed these specifications yet.
Even the wallpaper gives an Apple-inspired impression
The official promotional image also uses a black wallpaper with glowing deep-red abstract loops. Its clean, high-contrast composition resembles the abstract wallpapers Apple commonly uses to emphasize a new iPhone color or material finish.
The wallpaper is clearly built around the Cabernet Sauvignon Red body: its pink-red lighting matches the frame and makes the device appear more like a luxury flagship than a conventional gaming phone. Combined with the flat frame, rounded corners and camera layout, the K100 Pro Max is likely to draw plenty of iPhone 18 comparisons after its launch.
REDMI K100 Pro will be the balanced flagship
Lu Weibing says the REDMI K100 Pro is positioned as a complete flagship in the 4,000 yuan segment. The K100 Pro Max will sit above it with a greater focus on gaming performance and premium hardware. REDMI says the standard K100 has not been cancelled, but it will arrive later as a more accessible performance-focused option.
