REDMI may be preparing one of its largest performance phones yet. According to a new leak from reliable Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, a Xiaomi sub-brand is expected to launch two next-generation devices: a 6.59-inch mid-size Pro model and a 7-inch large-screen performance phone. Based on the blogger’s previous leak patterns, the device is widely expected to belong to the REDMI brand.
REDMI may enter the 7-inch performance phone race
The report suggests that Xiaomi’s sub-brand lineup is moving toward much larger displays. While the exact model name has not been confirmed, the leaked description points to a performance-focused REDMI device with an ultra-large flat screen.
Digital Chat Station previously claimed that some manufacturers were evaluating new 7-inch giant-screen smartphones. Later leaks also mentioned a sub-brand device with a 7-inch flat display, a massive battery, 2K ultra-high-definition resolution, and an ultra-high refresh rate.
Expected features
Although the final specifications are not confirmed, current leaks suggest the upcoming REDMI performance phone may include:
- Around 7-inch flat display
- Performance-focused hardware
- Large battery
- Possible 2K ultra-high-definition panel
- Ultra-high refresh rate
- Large-screen gaming and media focus
There is also another rumored 6.59-inch Pro model, which may serve users who want a more compact flagship-style experience.
Large phones are becoming mainstream again
Current premium flagships such as Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max, and Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max already use screens around 6.9 inches. This shows that the market is moving closer to 7-inch displays, especially for users who prioritize gaming, video, multitasking, and battery life.
Honor is also reportedly researching a new 7-inch 185Hz ultra-large flat-screen phone, which means the large-screen performance segment may become much more competitive this year.
