Xiaomi may use the upcoming Xiaomi 17T series China launch event to show more than just smartphones. Reports from Chinese media and a video shared by Lu Weibing suggest that Xiaomi’s humanoid robot could appear at the event, creating a stronger link between the company’s smartphone, EV, AI, and robotics ecosystem. The Xiaomi 17T series is already expected to be introduced in China on June 8, but the possible robot appearance could make the event much more important than a standard product launch.
Xiaomi Robot Expected to Join the Event
According to Chinese reports, Xiaomi’s humanoid robot was recently seen in new media posts ahead of the Xiaomi 17T series launch. The images show a gray humanoid robot with the Xiaomi logo on its chest, standing near Xiaomi’s automotive-themed display area. Another shared video appears to show Lu Weibing interacting with the robot, further increasing speculation that Xiaomi may officially present it during the launch event.
The robot itself continues the humanoid design direction first introduced with CyberOne, also known in China as “Tieda”, in 2022. The latest version uses a dark gray fabric-like exterior surface, a clean industrial body shape, and a futuristic design language that matches Xiaomi’s current AI and smart ecosystem strategy. However, Xiaomi has not yet revealed the robot’s full technical specifications, production plan, commercial availability, sensor system, AI model, or movement capabilities.
This means the launch event may not necessarily be a full commercial release. Xiaomi could use the stage to demonstrate robotics research, AI interaction, human-machine collaboration, or its broader “Human x Car x Home” ecosystem strategy.
Xiaomi 17T Pro Hardware Highlights
The Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to be the most powerful model in the series in China. It already launched in global and this time it’s time to launch on China. It is equipped with the Dimensity 9500 flagship chipset, built on a 3nm process. According to the official teaser information, the chip brings a 33% GPU performance improvement, a 42% reduction in power consumption, and a 199% improvement in ray tracing rendering performance compared to the previous generation.
The camera system is also one of the strongest parts of the Xiaomi 17T series. The Xiaomi 17T Pro features a Leica triple-camera system with Leica Summilux lenses, including a high dynamic range main camera, a Leica 5X periscope telephoto lens, and a Leica 120° ultra-wide-angle camera.
The full Xiaomi 17T series is also expected to support:
- 5X optical zoom
- 10X lossless zoom
- 120X UltraZoom
- 30cm telephoto macro
- Leica imaging optimization
This makes the Xiaomi 17T series an important model family for users who want flagship-grade photography without moving directly to Xiaomi’s Ultra lineup.
