Xiaomi is preparing a major battery upgrade for the Xiaomi 17T series in China, making the local version even more aggressive than the global model introduced on May 28. While the global Xiaomi 17T comes with a 6500mAh battery and the Xiaomi 17T Pro already offers a 7000mAh cell, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the China-bound Xiaomi 17T series will use a 7000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang Battery with the highest silicon content in the company’s history.
This is important because the Xiaomi 17T series is not simply being relaunched in China with the same hardware. Xiaomi appears to be optimizing the Chinese version with a larger battery configuration, stronger endurance marketing, and a more advanced silicon-carbon battery design.
Xiaomi’s Highest-Silicon Jinshajiang Battery Yet
According to Xiaomi’s official teaser, the China version of the Xiaomi 17T series will feature a 7000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang Battery with 16% silicon content, which Xiaomi describes as its highest silicon ratio so far. The company also claims that the battery can retain at least 80% capacity after 1600 charge cycles, a major durability figure for users who keep their phones for several years.
This battery technology matters because silicon-carbon cells allow manufacturers to increase energy density without dramatically increasing the physical size of the battery. In simple terms, Xiaomi can fit a larger battery into a slim flagship-style body while maintaining premium design elements such as a four-curved wraparound frame, a 2D flat display, ultra-narrow bezels, and an integrated metal camera module.
