Xiaomi has officially demonstrated the massive battery endurance of the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max, and the results are extremely impressive. According to a newly released official Xiaomi test video, the Xiaomi 17 Max managed to outlast not just one, but two iPhone 17 Pro Max devices during a continuous long-video streaming endurance challenge.
The test confirms that Xiaomi’s new large-screen flagship is built heavily around battery life and sustained performance, becoming the first smartphone to use Xiaomi’s new 8000mAh Jinshajiang battery technology.
Xiaomi 17 Max achieved over 33 hours of screen-on time
In Xiaomi’s official heavy-use video streaming test conducted on Bilibili, the Xiaomi 17 Max delivered:
- 33.3 hours of continuous screen-on usage
Meanwhile, Xiaomi compared the device against the iPhone 17 Pro Max using two separate units during the same challenge. According to Xiaomi’s published results, the combined runtime of the two iPhone 17 Pro Max devices reached only around 32 hours before both devices were exhausted.
This means a single Xiaomi 17 Max reportedly outlasted two iPhone 17 Pro Max phones in Xiaomi’s official long-duration video playback scenario.
First smartphone with an 8000mAh Jinshajiang battery
Xiaomi also confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 Max is the first smartphone equipped with the company’s new-generation 8000mAh Jinshajiang battery.
The battery appears to be one of the main reasons Xiaomi created the new “Max” category inside the Xiaomi 17 lineup. Xiaomi executives previously stated that the Xiaomi 17 Max would deliver the strongest battery life in Xiaomi history, and this new endurance test strongly supports those claims.
