Xiaomi MiMo-V2.5 is Now Open Source with 100T Free Tokens

In a monumental move for the global open-source AI community, Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi MiMo-V2.5 series of large language and multimodal models. Exiting its rigorous public beta phase that began earlier this month, the MiMo-V2.5 series is now fully open-source under a highly permissive MIT license. Alongside this release, Xiaomi introduced the “Orbit” program, a massive developer incentive initiative distributing an unprecedented 100 Trillion tokens worldwide to accelerate AI agent and application development within the broader tech ecosystem.

The MiMo-V2.5 release is divided into two distinct flagship models, both featuring a staggering 1 million context window, allowing developers to input massive datasets, codebases, or long-form documents in a single prompt:

  • MiMo-V2.5-Pro: Purpose-built for complex task reasoning, agentic workflows, and intensive coding applications. This model currently dominates the open-source sector, ranking #1 globally on both the GDPVal-AA and ClawEval leaderboards for task completion rates and token efficiency.

  • MiMo-V2.5 (Native Full-Modal): A versatile, fully native multimodal engine capable of processing and understanding text, images, video, and audio simultaneously while maintaining powerful autonomous agent capabilities.

Xiaomi has emphasized that the true metric of success for these models is not benchmark leaderboard dominance, but real-world problem-solving efficiency for developers building the next generation of smart applications. The MIT licensing allows for completely free commercial use, secondary training, and fine-tuning without requiring additional corporate authorization.

Supported Ecosystems

While not directly tied to a specific smartphone OTA today, the MiMo-V2.5 series is heavily optimized at the silicon level for immediate Day-0 deployment across major cloud and enterprise infrastructures. Supported architectures include:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Deeply adapted for the custom Trainium 2 chip and Neuron SDK + vLLM. Support for the upcoming 3nm Trainium 3 process is already in the pipeline.

  • AMD: Comprehensive Day-0 optimization utilizing the ROCm open-source software stack.

  • Ali T-Head (Honey Badger): Full-stack adaptation for the Pingtouge Zhenwu 810E.

  • Baidu Kunlun Core: Hardware-software synergy acceleration for stable enterprise deployment.

  • Suiyuan Technology: Fully adapted for the Suiyuan L600 using the TopsRider software stack for high throughput.

  • Mu Xi & Tianshu Smart Chip: Native end-to-end support via MXMACA software stacks and Day-0 deep adaptation.

  • Inference Frameworks: Full support for SGLang and vLLM right out of the box.

The Orbit Program

To jumpstart adoption, Xiaomi has launched the MiMo Orbit Program, consisting of the “Trillion Token Creator Incentive” and the “Agent Ecosystem Co-construction Program.”

Xiaomi is distributing 100 Trillion (100T) tokens globally to approved developers over a 30-day period (April 28, 2026 – May 28, 2026). Successful applicants can receive the Max Token Plan, which includes 1.6 billion credits. While this package is valued at 659 CNY (approximately $91 USD), the application process is open to users worldwide via the official portal at 100t.xiaomimimo.com.
