Xiaomi has started sales of the Mi Home Desktop Study Lamp Max in China at a price of 799 yuan (about $110). This new desk lamp features a dual-reflection light control structure that reduces direct light and glare to protect users’ eyes.
Dual-Reflection Structure and Wide Lighting Coverage
The lamp uses a dual-reflection system to shape and control light precisely, minimizing glare and preventing eye strain. It offers wide-area illumination that evenly covers a 1.6-meter by 0.6-meter desktop, providing an average brightness above 950 lux. When activated in screen-view mode, the forward light only targets the desktop to reduce reflections on screen surfaces.
First Backlight Design in Mi Home Desk Lamps
This is the first Mi Home desk lamp to include a backlight feature. It uses a new background compensation lighting design that diffuses light to brighten the environment and reduce contrast differences within the user’s field of view. The upgraded single-chip multi-peak full-spectrum LED has a sunlight spectrum fitting coefficient (GFC) over 0.985 and a general color rendering index (Ra) of 97.
High Optical Quality and Eye Protection
The lamp’s lighting performance exceeds the AA-grade photometric standards for reading and writing desk lamps. The normal area achieves an average illuminance of 1100 lux with uniformity under 4, while the center area reaches 1650 lux with 1.6 uniformity. It includes Xiaomi’s Qingshan eye protection technology offering flicker-free light and a blue light hazard level of RG0.
Smart Features for Adaptive Lighting and User Reminders
The lamp integrates dual light sensors that monitor both desktop and ambient light to automatically adjust main and backlight brightness. A built-in 24GHz radar supports seat presence detection to switch the lamp on and off automatically. It also provides customizable reminders for smart lighting usage, focus duration, sedentary breaks, and insufficient ambient light via the Mi Home app.
The Mi Home Desktop Study Lamp Max is currently on sale in China only. Users can check for availability and more details through Xiaomi’s official channels.
