This follows a recent pattern where the REDMI 17 was renamed REDMI M100 5G in the Chinese market. The rebranding appears to be part of Xiaomi’s approach during the ongoing chip shortage, aimed at offering affordable devices by adjusting names and product lines.

The device features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1220 by 2712 pixels and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. Power comes from a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset built on a 4nm process, combining four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz with four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz.
Memory options include 8GB and 12GB of RAM, paired with internal storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The main camera consists of a 50MP sensor with an f/1.5 aperture, capable of 2160p video recording. The front houses a 20MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 lens.
Battery capacity is rated at 5500 mAh with support for 45W wired charging. Software-wise, it runs Android 14 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS on top, promising up to three major system upgrades. According to Xiaomi’s official End of Life (EOL) list, support for this model will continue until January 30, 2029.
