Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Fold “center-fold” phone features inner and outer displays sized at approximately the √2:1 paper ratio. This dimension is designed to offer a natural reading experience similar to a book.
The choice of this aspect ratio benefits various use cases, according to Lei Jun. When watching videos, the picture will display without cropping. For office work, documents appear clearly without the need for zooming or adjustment, making content easy to read at a glance.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold employs a refined design with extremely narrow, four-sided edges and large, ultra-elliptical rounded corners. The focus is on elegance in the phone’s lines. The rear features a “runner-style” Deco camera module and a flat, wrapped metal mid-frame on the sides, emphasizing a clean and sharp look.
