Xiaomi’s new Smart Socket 4 supports local timers and power stats

Xiaomi has introduced the new Xiaomi Smart Socket 4, featuring an upgrade to Wi-Fi 6 for remote control without needing a gateway. The device supports the 2.4GHz band and carries a retail price of 59 yuan (about $8.50), with a crowdfunding price of 49 yuan (about $7) starting September 9.

Design and Technical Features

The Xiaomi Smart Socket 4 measures 52×41×57.6mm and upgrades the plug design to meet the new national standard, making it compatible with various power strips. It includes energy consumption and power usage charts that display data by year, month, week, and day.

Smart Connectivity and Local Controls

This model supports Xiaomi’s Surge Intelligence Link, allowing users to create custom smart linkage scenarios through the Mi Home app. It enables centralized control of all smart devices in the home and flexible customization based on personal preferences.

Additionally, the socket supports timer and countdown local functions that operate even without internet connectivity. When the set time expires, the socket automatically cuts off power. Users can also set a double-press button on the socket itself to quickly start a countdown timer without using the phone.

Availability

The Xiaomi Smart Socket 4 will begin crowdfunding sales on September 9, with official retail pricing set at 59 yuan. The announcement currently applies to China, with no details yet on international availability.
