Xiaomi has introduced new features in HyperOS 4 that let users handle calls and verification codes seamlessly across two Xiaomi or REDMI phones signed into the same Xiaomi account. This means users can answer incoming calls on one device even if the phones are not on the same network. Additionally, verification SMS codes can be received and viewed on either phone without switching devices.
Requirements and Availability
The cross-device call and SMS code reception require both phones to be logged into the same Xiaomi account. The receiving device must have cross-device permissions enabled in settings and run Xiaomi HyperOS 4 or newer. Meanwhile, the device sending the notifications must use HyperOS 3 or later. Both devices need to be connected to the internet, and at this time, the feature is limited to use within China. Device compatibility and support for this function may vary with real-world use.
Background on HyperOS 4 Rollout
Previously, Xiaomi began rolling out HyperOS 4 beta builds starting August 14. On August 26, recruitment opened for additional devices in the beta test program. The new cross-device communication features appear to be part of Xiaomi’s ongoing efforts to enhance device integration within its ecosystem.
